Communications & Change Strategist
Personal Leadership Coach
About Me
I am a communications and change management consultant and personal leadership coach with over two decades of experience in oil & gas, electricity, healthcare, university, government and not-for-profit environments. My experience ranges from writing copy for a Swiss dental manufacturer to securing headline status across Canada for the launch of the University of Calgary’s Centre for Information Security & Cryptography. I also organized an international symposium in New Delhi for The Conference Board of Canada that featured India’s former finance minister—and accidently dropped his slides. But that’s a whole other story. More recently, I have successfully designed and implemented communications and change management strategies for Veresen Inc., Husky Energy, TransAlta and CP Rail. A skilled writer and editor, I have contributed to several publications over the years.
I hold a master’s degree in organizational development and leadership from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, a graduate honours degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, and a B.Sc. (home economics) from the University of Alberta. Over the past 15 years, I have instructed writing and strategic communications planning courses for Mount Royal University’s Public Relations Certificate Program. I am certified in organizational change management methodology, and hold the designations of APR (Accredited in Public Relations) from the Canadian Public Relations Society and ACC (Associate Certified Coach) from the International Coach Federation.
